Wednesday11th March 2020 Skittles at the Jolly Farmer

A Skittles evening has been arranged at the Jolly Farmer, Blacknest for Wednesday 11 March 2020. Basket meals will be provided followed by tea or coffee as in previous years. A sign up sheet was available at the December lunch and the event is now fully booked.  The cost is £15 and payment was due at the January 2020 lunch.

27th April to 1st May 2020, Spring Break, Warners Bembridge Coast Hotel  [Cancelled]

For the Spring Break this year we shall be returning to Bembridge on the Isle of Wight for 4 nights half board, and 39 places have been confirmed.  The island offers lots of attractions and the hotel provides entertainment every evening.  Two wine receptions and a bowls match have been organised.  The sign-up sheet is still available and additional places may still be available for members or guests wishing to join us on this holiday.  Prices are £260 per person for a Standard room or £300 for a Signature room, with supplements for a sea view, patio or balcony and for single occupancy.  The ferry is an additional £27.50 return per car with up to 4 occupants.  Payment of the balance was due at the January lunch

Tuesday 19th May 2020, Spring Walk

This walk will start from the Fox and Goose pub in Greywell, where we can have lunch after the walk.  About 4 miles with a view of the portal to Greywell Tunnel.  Sign-up sheet was available at the February lunch.

Thursday 4th June 2020, Mottisfont Abbey and Gardens

Mottisfont is a house and gallery set in riverside gardens, which are particularly famous for the National Collection of old-fashioned roses. On arrival we will have a group talk on Mottisfont Priory, then be free to explore the estate.  The date has been chosen to catch the roses at their best.  Cost £14 - £22 for NT members, £28 - £36 for non-NT members.  £10 deposit at the March lunch, balance in May.

Wednesday 24th June 2020, Pétanque


It is planned to hold our annual Pétanque meleé at 10 am on the Crondall Petanque Club’s terrain at Cody Sports & Social Club GU14 0LP. This will be followed by lunch at the Foresters, Church Crookham.  The price for Pétanque plus lunch will be £20, or £16 for those only attending the lunch.  A sign-up sheet with full costs, etc will be available at the March lunch, with payment due in April.

Monday 3rd August 2020, Stratfield Saye House

We will have exclusive access to Stratfield Saye House, the home of the Duke of Wellington since 1818, for the day from 10.30am.  Tours of the house will be led by guides from the Wellington Estate, starting from 11am.  In addition, there are talks in the morning and afternoon on the Great Duke’s funeral and which also chart his military and political life.  Simple lunches from Wellington Farm Shop can be provided if ordered in advance.  We will make our own way to the Stratfield Saye House.  The cost is £15 per person depending on numbers, lunch extra.  A £5 deposit was payable in February, with the balance due in June.
